Roland Earns the Facebook Free Registration on 10/3

Roland V, a fan of Bike the Coast - Taste the Coast on Facebook, earned free registration for his whole family on the 7/15 mile bicycle routes as part of a Facebook promotion during the weekend of October 1 and 2.  Fans who provided links on how they helped to promote Bike the Coast - Taste the Coast were eligible for free registration, and Roland was selected as the weekend winner.  Roland, his wife, his 7 year old son and his 3 year old daughter (in a bicycle child seat) will be riding their choice of 7 or 15 miles on November 6, 2010.  Bike the Coast - Taste the Coast will be running the same promotion on Facebook every weekend until October 31, 2010.

“I’m a regular half and full century bike rider and Bike the Coast looks like a great ride for both beginners and advanced riders. My entire family will ride. My 7 year old son is very excited about getting a medal for finishing his first organized bike ride!” said Roland.

Cyclists in the inaugural Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast event can register as a group with their family and friends (total of five) to participate in the seven or 15-mile route and save up to 53 percent off the regular price!

The regular price of a single registration for the seven or 15 mile courses is $30, but with the Family & Friends package, the cost for five cyclists drops to just $80, or $16 per rider.  Additionally, if you register online at www.bike-the-coast.com, the price drops to $72.25 with the 15 percent early registration discount code. Not only is it fun to ride as a group, it’s also very affordable.

Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast, produced by Event Media, Inc., has partnerships with the Oceanside Bicycle Committee, Main Street Oceanside and the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce. These groups, along with the Oceanside Visitors Bureau, are bringing together the cycling and business communities in Oceanside to promote bicycling and offer a fun festival at the Oceanside Pier with food, drink, music and fun.

The event, beginning and ending at the Oceanside Pier, offers cyclists of all abilities the choice of four unique courses along the San Luis Rey Bike Trail and the North County beaches. In addition, Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast will feature a comprehensive expo, comprising exhibitor booths, live music area, beer garden, finish line photographs, bike valet and Taste the Coast food booths. Main Street Oceanside (MSO), producers of the very popular weekly Farmers and Sunset Markets, will provide food and music at Taste the Coast.
