Did a ride I previously would have thought impossible with a great group of Clydesdale’s and Athena’s up glendora mountain road to Mt Baldy Village and back. 43 miles and 5300ft of elevation gain all with people who would not be described as cyclists, let alone climbers!

    It was an inspiring experience!

Sunday afternoon ride in the brilliant sunshine, with a punishing 12 - 15 knot headwind - 22.7 miles from the San Luis Rey Trail trailhead in Oceanside, to Oceanside beach, circling the Oceanside Harbor, and return. Great ride!

I “Rode for a Reason” on October 13! I rode 63 miles throughout Orange County as one of 123 riders in the Third Annual Orange County Ride for AIDS (fondly known as OCRA!). There was also 100 and 30-mile (“A Taste of OCRA!) courses available. Besides being a great traning ride for Bike the Coast, the ride raised over $100,000 to provide AIDS education, prevention and many different services for individuals infected and affected by HIV disease in Orange County.
It was a beautiful day, a great training ride and truly satisfying to “Ride for a Reason”
(If I had any kind of technological know-how I would attach a picture, but alas….)

Sunday Oct. 14th I rode the Tour de Scottsdale 30 mile race. I wanted to do a ride before going to the Bike the coast ride to gather inspiration for my first visit and ride in the state of California.
Looking forward to the Bike the Coast race coming up in a couple of weeks.

Stayed local and trained at Miramar Lake with a buddy. Eight laps around it got pretty repetitive, but can’t complain about the great view of the Blue Angels and other aircraft as they flew over San Diego during the Miramar Air Show!

October 17-I rode from La Mesa to Bonita Marina and back-25 miles. I rode with my friend, Donna. We got back just before it heated up to 99 degree weather.

This week I switched to Mountain Biking and rode the Flume Trail in Lake Tahoe, 13 miles of the most beautiful views in the whole planet!

For the love of cycling, I joined a team of go getters exercising in the great outdoors enjoying the beach side life… I accomplished my first 35 miles! What an awesome feeling this is… The joy you get with cycling is such a prize itself…Cycling usually towards Playa Del Rey…then on this particular first longest of my cycling, I looked back…that’s Paso Verdes - I made it there! Cycling to Marina Del Rey from Playa Del Rey then back again to Playa Del Rey towards Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach … then on the pathway roadside to cycling path and roadside again to & fro Paso Verdes -amazing view from uphill looking down the beachside full of surfers awaiting the waves… then, few minutes later…downhill & curves from Paso Verdes..One of the best yet with my love for cycling….
