Here a some of the fun answers:

  • The most romantic route for me is touring the beautiful Big Bear Lake. I like this rewarding relationship between me and the nature. When I feel exhausted climbing the hills I suddenly feel my lungs inflate and breath love with its facinating scenery of mountains, trees, lakes, air and people. I believe this is what it is to be happy and in LOVE!
  • The Century ride in Bend Oregon. End of August or Beginning of September is best. There mayl still be some snow so late Summer is best. We had snow in July. It’s really only 78 miles with a 3,000 feet climb at the highest point. Spectacular views and experience camping on several lakes! I would totally love to take a full week to ride! So much to experience and see!
  • Costa Rica from one side to the other 1 week trip ended on the beach
  • Winding through the Santa Monica beach bike path for people-watching, climbing up Temescal Canyon Road from PCH, racing supercars as we whiz back down Temescal, a water break at a stack stand on the beach, and back home.
Any route that have me and my wonderful wife of 45 plus years together, and than watch a beautiful sunset together.

I love ridding in San diego area specially in Oceanside.

Breakfast ride from the 91 & 55 to breakfast on Main Street in Huntington Beach!

On beach cruisers from San Juan Capistrano to San Clemente via PCH with the wife!!!

My favorite ride - California Central Coast from Cambria to Piedras Blancas. Along the way we got to see zebras and the amazing elephant seals. Then back to our hideaway in Avila Beach to toast our ride together with a glass of wine and appetizers.

The bike trail from our place in Huntington beach to Newport beach for drinks n chips at Baja Sharkeys and a nice casual ride home on the tandem as the sun is setting….Perfect. …

Now that I have some cycling experience and really love being on the bike, I’ve starting going out of my way to hit climbs. Lately, I’ve been bleeding love with Bachman repeats by UCSD Hospital. Not exactly the most romantic ride in the traditional sense, but there’s nothing like that feeling of hitting the crest!

Without a doubt, it’s Quepos, Costa Rica to Playa Dominicalito along the 34.

The little stretch from Julian to Wynola, down Farmer’s road, in April. The trees are blooming, the cows are mooing, there are daffodils everywhere, and it’s all down hill. The presence of 5th graders on the Ride Across California makes it even better.

    Hwy 1 Mexico to Canada

Special thanks to Toni Tani for posting the heart-shaped route from Strava!
