Traveling To Oceanside

Oceanside is San Diego County’s most accessible city. It is as close to Orange County as it is to downtown San Diego by I-5. Additionally, it is the northernmost of the Five Cities of North County San Diego offering easy access to the attractions in Carlsbad (Legoland), Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar. It is also served from the east by freeway access on Highway 78 which makes the Wild Animal Park, Palomar Mountain, the Indian Casinos of Pala and Valley Center and the Santa Cruz mountains just a quick ride away. Oceanside is reachable directly as well through its Amtrak/Coaster/Sprinter station and many surface bus routes.

Oceanside itself boasts a range of excellent restaurants, well-priced lodgings and nationally famous attractions (The Oceanside Pier, Mission San Luis Rey, Oceanside Harbor (can you say fishing and whale-watching?) and Camp Pendleton).
