The annual San Diego Century Bicycle Tour, the classic San Diego county cycling event with food & fitness expo set for Saturday, May 31 in Encinitas, has opened 100 entries for on-line entry to the 1500 maximum rider roster, available on a first come, first served basis.

“We’ve had a strong request for on-line entries for this event after we closed on-line on May 5 and many requests for additional riders,” said event organizer Jim Curl of Event Media, Inc. “With that in mind we worked with our event team and partners to move 100 entry slots from walk-up back to online. We’re very pleased with the fact that demand was strong for this year’s 1500 roster capacity, and we look forward to another great ride for all our participants on May 31.”

The 100 on-line entries are available online as of May 14 and will be done when sold out or at latest Sunday 5/25 at midnight. Walk-up entries are now set at 50 and will sell out on Friday May 30 at Friday Late Reg and Packet Pick-up . To secure your place among the remaining spots, register as soon as possible.  For details visit the event website: www.sdcentury.com .

About the San Diego Century Bicycle Tour

The San Diego Century Bicycle Tour (Saturday, May 31, 2014), consists of a choice of 20, 33, 67 and 105-mile rides that start and finish at MiraCosta College in Encinitas. The three longer cycling courses include classic and challenging routes that tour the beautiful Lake Hodges, climb scenic hills on the way to Poway and Ramona and return to MiraCosta College. The shorter ride features a new course in 2014 with an out and back inland route to Tri-City Wellness Center in Carlsbad. All the rides are followed by finish line festivities at MiraCosta College, including cuisine from local food trucks, refreshments and a sports and fitness expo. Proceeds from the ride support the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition – www.sdcbc.org — a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to making bicycling better in greater San Diego.
