How to Win a Bike Jersey on 5/4 with Bike Month

Learn "ABC Quick Check" online at http://bikeed.org in "Traffic Skills 101" and support the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition.

May is Bike Month and it’s a great time for all of us think about being not only enthusiasts, but also bike ambassadors.  We can all help support the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, our local bike coalitions and the efforts to get more people riding bikes safely for pleasure and for work commuting!

This week’s jersey giveaway question is all about something free that we can all participate in and pass along to other riders to help promote safe cycling.

If you haven’t participated yet, we will be giving away San Diego Century bike jerseys and merchandise this week (and every week until 5/19) with some fun website questions.  We gave away one jersey over the weekend, so there will be one winner on Friday from those who participate this week.  The winner will receive a free 2012 San Diego Century bike jersey.

Whether or not you want to participate, be sure to check out our 2012 merchandise, including the jersey, t-shirts and caps.

This week’s question is “Do you know about the free online “Traffic Skills 101″ at http://bikeed.org and will you pass it on to other cyclists? ”  Post a comment below with your answer & comments about the class if you check it out.  Get in on the Jersey contest.

Complete the online course, or check out in-person options with more San Diego County Bicycle Coalition resources and classes.

Very good information in a clear and concise formatt. I will pass this information on to a local cyclist website here in Las Vegas called bikelasvegas.com. This site provides information and riding opportunities for all levels of riders and will probably be very welcome.

I have been interested in taking the course offered by the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, but just haven’t had the time. This online version is absolutely a great way to fill that gap. Thanks!

In mid May, I will be taking this Traffic 101 course with the On-Road Training session at CSULong Beach. A pre-requisite for a scholarship candidate program (www.Womenonbikessocal.org) to become an LCI (League Certified Instructor).

These free online classes gives me the advantage to show up prepared. I will definately share this information with my peers and bike-mates.

A lot of cyclists, and a lot of drivers, would benefit greatly by taking this online course. There’s too much animosity, and very little understanding, about cyclists’ rights and responsibilities. I’m going to pass this on to my Saturday morning ride group and my local bike shop here in Orange County. This is great stuff!

I did not know about this online course, but I have passed it on (posted it to Facebook). Cyclists and motorists should take this course (or something like it). I moved to California when I was 11. Before I was allowed to ride my bike, my parents required me to read the driver’s handbook. It established a foundation for safe cycling and my future as a safe driver!
