Week 3, August 6th: Century Training Series

We’re back for another 16-week series of riding and training toward the Tour de Poway Metric Century in October and the Bike the Coast, Taste the Coast Century in November. You can use these rides to train for the Century, a charity ride, or just to meet some new people and learn some classic San Diego rides.

Week 3, Saturday August 6th

Distance: 35 miles - Bayfront Park/Eastlake/Southbay
Climbing Difficulty: 2 (Rolling hills with 1 longer, harder climb)
Start Time: 8:00AM SHARP
Start Location: Bayfront Park - Chula Vista

The ride leaves promptly at 8:00am. Please arrive early if you haven’t had the chance to sign a waiver and meet your ride guides.

This week we’ll be doing a new ride leaving from the Bayfront Park in Chula Vista. After heading south through Chula Vista, the ride will venture east through Otay Mesa before proceeding north on the 125 Toll Road. From here, we’ll be greeted by the rolling hills of Otay Ranch and Eastlake prior to beginning our westward journey back to Chula Vista through Bonita.

Rain Policy - If the roads are wet and/or rain is expected, then the ride is cancelled. Use this method on the “morning of”: if your driveway is wet, it’s cloudy and the forecast has a 20%+ chance of rain - no ride. If it’s drying out or sunny - come on down, we’ll decide at the start.
